Edinburgh Mela
Festival season is upon us and Edinburgh's social calendar wouldn't be complete without the Edinburgh Mela taking place on the 2 & 3 September 2006.
Now in its 12th year, Scotland's biggest multi-cultural festival will be returning to its home in Pilrig Park, Leith.
For the second year running, the festival will be programmed and produced by Out of the Blue, the Edinburgh-based arts and education trust following the success of last year.

Performances at this year's Mela include:
- Sukshinder Shinda aka The Music Man, a singer, director and producer who has worked with the likes of Jazzy B
- Pakistani pin-ups N.R.G. Boy Band
- US-based Bohemia, the world's only Punjabi rapper
- UK-based Jinx a boy band of DJ's recent album climbing up the charts called ' Culture Shock'
- The Bollywood Dancers pioneers of the urban/Asian fusion dance scene
- Sakhian Ladies night on Friday 1 September featuring music, dance and food for ladies only
